Susan Chauncey-Woolsey, Susan Coolidge, fue una escritora estadounidense. Nació en Ohio, el 29 de enero de 1835 y falleció el 9 de abril de 1905 en New Port, Rhode Island.
Trabajó como enfermera durante la Guerra Civil norteamericana. Después se trasladó a la residencia familiar en Rhode Island, donde vivió hasta su muerte.
Allí fue donde comenzó a escribir sus historias familiares de Katy Carr. Además de literatura infantil, escribió poesía, correspondencias y realizó traducciones.
También dedicó su esfuerzo a fomentar la literatura en la sociedad de su época.
