Rhys Bowen es el seudónimo de la escritora británica Janet Quin-Harkin. Nació el 24 de septiembre de 1941, en Bath.

Estudió en la universidad de Londres y comenzó a trabajar en la BBC, después se cambió a una empresa de libros de texto para terminar escribiendo sus propias publicaciones para niños y adolescentes.

Posteriormente se ha dedicado, además de escribir novela para jóvenes, también novelas de misterio, con las que ha alcanzado más éxito. Ha recibido numerosos premios y ha sido traducida a bastantes idiomas.
