Edith Caroline Rivett fue una escritora británica que firmó con los seudónimos E. C. R. Lorac y Carol Carnac.

Nació en Hendon, el 13 de junio de 1894 y falleció en Caton-with-Littledale, el 2 de julio de 1958.

Estudió Arte y Manualidades, toda su vida se dedicó a la artesanía, además de la literatura.

Escritora muy prolífica, fue una de las grandes firmas de la edad dorada de las novelas de misterio.
